Ivan Iusco





Biography:

Composer and music producer.
In December 1987 he sets up his record label called Minus Habens Records. He starts releasing his own music and several Italian and international artists, working with a select group of international distributors. In a very short period of time he gains, in Italy as well as abroad, a prominent position in the european independent music scene. This allows him to involve important artists such as: Brian Eno, Angelo Badalamenti, Depeche Mode, William Orbit and many others.
In 1999, his first cinematographic experience: he composes the soundtrack of the movie "Lacapagira" (My Head Is Spinning) directed by Alessandro Piva. A few months later he's awarded for the best soundtrack at Valencia Movie Festival 2000.
In 2002 he starts to collaborate with the director Sergio Rubini, writing the main theme of the movie "L'Anima Gemella".
In 2003 he gets the "Nastro D’Argento" nomination as "best soundtrack" for the music of the movie "Mio Cognato" (My Brother In Law) directed by Alessandro Piva.
In the same year, the Ministry of Italian Education entrusts him with the chair of electronic music at "Jannuzzi" high school in Andria (Bari), within the national programme "The School for Development" (EU plan).
In 2004 he writes the soundtrack of the movie "L'amore Ritorna" directed by Sergio Rubini.
In 2006 he composes the soundtrack of "Checosamanca", the first cinematographic production by Eskimosa, a Feltrinelli Group company. The movie, co-produced by Rai Cinema and directed by ten directors, is selected for the first edition of Roma Cinema Festival (2006)
In November 2006, the Italian meeting for independent record labels (M.E.I.), during its tenth edition, awards Ivan Iusco and Minus Habens Records for their important contribution to the Italian movie industry.
In 2007 he composes the soundtrack of the record breaker movie "Ho Voglia Di Te", directed by Luis Prieto and he gets the "Diamanti Al Cinema" nomination.
In 2008 he collaborates again with the director "Sergio Rubini, writing the additional original music for the movie "Colpo D'Occhio".
Together with the composition of original soundtracks for cinema, Ivan Iusco composes also music for television, advertising and videoart.
